OPTION ONE: What element in the Beauty and the Beast story would you change, atter, etc. if you rewrote it? For this one I’m asking you to consider all of the important elements in the story (the use of titles for names, the daughter being bartered, the changes Disney made, the rose as a pivotal symbol, etc.) and to tell us what you might change, and how that would affect the story?
OPTION TWO: Of the different versions of Beauty and the Beast discussed in the various Beauty and the Beast articles we read last week, which was the most surprising to you, and why?
OPTION THREE: Take a quote from Ruth Bottigheimers chapter excerpt and analyze it in terms of something else we’ve read this term (Lakoff and Johnson, or Campbell, or Sontag, or anything from last week).
OPTION FOUR: Find 1-3 quotes from Bottigheimer and use it/them to illustrate one of the course themes (these are in the syllabus, and also last week’s powerpoint lecture).
OPTION FIVE: Can you identify a movie, video game, TV show, or novel variation that you can argue is a variation of either Beauty and the Beast or Little Red Riding Hood (last week’s optional readings can help with this one).
OPTION SIX: What does Jack Zipes show us in terms of metaphor? Or myth? Or symbol?

OPTION EIGHT: Find a SYMBOLIC element in Carters ‘The Bloody Chamber’ and write a few sentences analyzing it symbolically. Consider referencing the Sontag, or Zipes, or Bottigheimer.
OPTION NINE: Find a MYTHIC element in Carters ‘The Bloody Chamber’ and write a few sentences analyzing it mythically. Consider referencing the Campbell.
OPTION TEN: Find a METAPHORIC element in Carters “The Bloody Chamber’ and write a few sentences analyzing it metaphorically. Consider referencing the Lakoff and Johnson.
