In order to be a good writer, one must be well read. Who is your inspiration?
For this project, you will be charged with creating a presentation that will showcase your favorite writer. You will need to give a brief biography for your chosen writer, a list of publications, and answer the questions you will find below. You will want to be sure to include the genre your chosen author writes in, any awards the author may have won, and any interesting facts about your chosen author you may find when researching him or her. All research should be documented using MLA formatting (something you should have learned about in ENG 101 and 201, and can easily access on the BMCC Library home page).
Once you have gathered all of your information, you will create a presentation in power point, or whatever platform you choose, where you incorporate your research as well as visual imagery for your chosen writer. You may use music, recordings of your chosen author reading his or her work, your own voice recordings, etc. Be as creative as possible. Your objective is to share your passion for this writer with the rest of the class, and me, and inspire us to add them to our list of “must reads”.
