Write a 4-6 page essay that critically applies 2 moral theories from this course to a contemporary moral issue. Your essay should provide an informative explanation of the moral theories you are applying, as well as an explanation of a contemporary moral issue of your choice.
Then, you must critically apply these moral theories to that contemporary issue. A good critical application will either synthesize the moral theories into a single, coherent applied ethics approach to that issue; offer a compare and contrast analysis of each theory’s effectiveness when applied to that issue; or offer criticisms of each theory’s approach to that issue. Most importantly, this essay should have a thesis that you argue for. Your thesis should be some sort of evaluative opinion that serves as the culmination of your critical application. Typically, a thesis will address the following question: “What specific moral judgments can we make about the application of these moral theories to a contemporary moral issue?”
