I propose transitioning from paper documentation to digital health records (EHRs) that are securely stored and easily accessed by all members of the healthcare team. Not only will this system reduce paperwork burden but it will also improve accuracy, save time, facilitate collaboration between providers and ensure consistency across the board. Additionally, with digital health records patients can become more involved in their own care by having access to their medical history at any time.
To implement this change successfully I plan on speaking with hospital administrators about obtaining adequate funding for software licenses and hardware upgrades needed for EHRs; consulting with IT staff regarding security protocols; educating staff about the new system; seeking feedback from users during trial phases; revising processes when necessary; ensuring proper training for those using the new system;and offering ongoing support throughout implementation.
In order to address those who may resist such changes I believe it is important to emphasize potential benefits – such as increased efficiency – while minimizing potential challenges associated with adapting to a new platform. Additionally, I think providing incentives – such as additional trainings or rewards - can help increase adoption rates amongst staff members since they will view switching over positively instead of negatively
