Phrase Analysis

Compose an extended definition argument in which you argue for a new understanding or appreciation for the word / term / phrase you have chosen. This requires exploring subtle nuances and connotations of your term. To create and support your argument use at least three of the following strategies (descriptive details, examples, comparison and/or contrast, history of usage or word origin, use or function, metaphors/similes). Also, you must use a minimum of 5 secondary sources, but no more than 10.It is appropriate in this essay to use personal history or anecdote as evidence, as long as the argument is also grounded in an awareness of popular/common or historical usage of the term.
