Policy Alternatives

Identify the issue

What is the major moral or ethical issue you wish to raise?
In what situation does thie issue come up?
What are the major factual issues to support alternate conclusions?

Talk about how history and culture relate to this issue.

Outline the Options

What are the alternatives? What policy might be adopted?
What does the public say?
Are there any facts that have not been adequately considered.
What approach works: Absolutism, relativism (which form), objectivism, self-interest and egoism, religious based decision? Why do other positions not work?
Evaluate the Arguments

Talk about the importance of each of your arguments versus others, such as the principle of self interest may or may not be more important than the issue of protecting the nation or your family, or you may see that as one and the same, or you may think that truth is not as important as justice.
Now look for fallacies or logical errors. Every time you put a logical fallacy in your paper, points are deducted.
