Primary care practice
A PICO question , a purpose statement, and a SWOT analysis ( Strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, threats)/how open is the culture to this change? (Do they want this change, are they indifferent or resistant?) . The PICO question and purpose statement have already been chosen and I will be providing them.
Problem Statement: Treatment and medication non-adherence is a serious problem in the primary care practice particularly in patients with hypertension.
Pico Question: Would educational and behavioral interventions be effective in improving compliance in patients with medication and treatment non-adherence? PICO components or in this case PIO: P = Adult population age 40 +. I = educational and behavioral modifications such as pamphlets distributed to patients in the practice. O= will patients have improved blood pressure readings after interventions.
