However the dynamic and complex nature of the current business environment is challenging strategy practitioners to deploy strategy while maintaining margins with minimal disruption to business operations and customer expectations. Increasingly companies are adopting project management as a methodology of deploying strategy across the business or within business units. Using a company you are familiar with;
(a) Make the argument for the implementation of business plans using project management methodology and knowledge.
(b) Project scope management is a subset of project management that includes the processes required to ensure that the project includes all of the work required, and only the work required to complete the project successfully. As a project manager discuss how you would ensure that you have documented the scope of the work correctly?
(c) Discuss how the integration of project management processes and knowledge are required to ensure that the various elements of the project are properly co-ordinated?
(d) As part of their operational shift, your company is going to adopt project management methodology. Make an argument for the appropriate organisation structure that is most likely to achieve project success?
(e) As a consultant, what advice would you give to a company that was seeking to move from an old, adversarial culture, where the various departments actively resisted helping each other, to one that encourages “project thinking” and cross-functional cooperation?
