Coursework and mini project (25%)

Question:

Obtain open data via online database in your majoring field (business / accounting / finance / economic related data) consists of TWO independent variable and ONE dependent variable. The data must contains at least 40 set observations. (Eg: x1 = Weight (kg), x2 =Height, y = calories intake)

Task assigned:

Question 1

Find the mean, median, mode and standard deviation for each independent variables and dependent variable. Hence, interpret each of the answer accordingly.
(24 marks)

Question 2

Obtain the regression analysis between the variables using excel and interpret the summary table, fitted line plot and normal probability plot.
(28 marks)

Question 3

a) Find the correlation for each independents and dependent. Interpret the results obtain.
(20 marks)

b) Consider evaluating whether or not a linear relationship exists between the independent and dependent variable. Using the t-test for testing the existence of a linear relationship by two tail test of correlation coefficient. (manual working only)

Question 4

Obtain and interpret bar chart graph for each variable using excel only.
(12 marks)

Note:
Question 1 and 3(a) should use manual and excel command calculation.
Refer Appendix 1 for the remaining marks allocation.

The total marks for this assignment is 100% but it carries 25% of overall assessment for this module.
