Part 2: Recording the Presentation using Canvas Studio

To record your PowerPoint presentation with voice-over (screen capture) using Canvas Studio, follow these steps. You will need to open your PowerPoint in presentation mode before starting the recording.

How to Record a Canvas Studio Video with a Webcam (Screen Capture) in a Course

Access Canvas Studio:

Navigate to your Canvas course.

Click on "Studio" in the global navigation menu (or click "My Media" depending on your institution's setup).

Start Screen Recorder:

In the Studio library, click the + "Record" button.

Select "Screen Capture." (If it's your first time, you may need to download and launch the small application.)

Configure Recording Settings:

Once the recorder tool is launched (it appears as a gray frame around your screen), you need to set your recording type:

Screen and Webcam (Recommended): This captures your full screen (your PowerPoint) and includes a small picture-in-picture video of your webcam feed (you).

Microphone: Ensure the correct microphone is selected and tested (the volume bar should move when you speak).

Max Time: Confirm the recording limit is sufficient (Studio usually allows up to 15 minutes, which is plenty for an 8-10 slide presentation).

Prepare Your Presentation:

Open your PowerPoint file and put it into Slide Show mode (Full Screen). This ensures your entire screen capture focuses on the slides.

Position the recording frame boundary (the dashed line) to perfectly frame your slides.

Record and Present (Voice-Over):

Click the "Rec" button in the control panel. You will get a 3-second countdown.

Begin your presentation, speaking clearly and using your voice-over script to explain the clinical details on each slide. Use the arrow keys to advance slides normally.

When finished, click the "Pause" button, then click "Done" on the control panel.

Sample Answer

Developing a comprehensive presentation requires selecting a clinical case based on the provided chief complaint ("high blood pressure and feeling dizzy many times in the week") and structuring it according to the requested five clinical sections.

Since I cannot actually create and record the presentation for you in Canvas Studio, I will provide the detailed content for each slide of the PowerPoint presentation, formatted as a script and content outline. Following the clinical case presentation, I will provide the steps for recording the presentation using Canvas Studio's Screen Capture feature.
