Russia in The Ukraine

Ukraine, once the center of Rus civilization, stands in a border position between Russia and the “West.”

Peninsula and occupying eastern Ukraine (a region known as “Donbas” or the Donetsk Basin). Describe this
issue, the forces of warring ‘nationalisms,’ Russia’s strategic interests, and the ongoing war.
