Safety datasheet

Now that you know what an SDS must contain, let's take a look at a couple of common household products such as, SC Johnson for Windex® (Links to an external site.)or The Clorox Company for Pine-Sol®. (Links to an external site.) These are easy SDSs to locate on the Internet. Windex is pretty innocuous but note sections 8 and 11 for information for Pine-Sol. Surprised?

Now conduct some Internet research and find an SDS for either a common product or one that you use in your workplace. Don't be afraid to be creative with this assignment and look at a product outside the norm of workplace products, like Hasbro's Play-Doh (Links to an external site.) for example. Before you ask, no, you cannot use the Windex, Pine-Sol, or Play-Doh SDSs for the discussion.

For this discussion activity, concentrate on the information contained in Sections 8 through 11.

When you locate a suitable SDS, create an initial discussion post that contains the following information:

The product name (include the SDS).
Any GHS label elements symbol(s).
