Description
First, make sure you have completed the readings and quizzes on this page: Op-ed Essay: Rough
Draft
Using your approved persuasive thesis that you submitted to Op-Ed Thesis Statement Submission,
write an op-ed argumentative essay and apply Classical Argument Format.
Once you have written a draft of your essay, use the Argumentative Research Paper
Checklist.docPreview the document to review your essay.
Then write 5 to 8 specific questions you have about your essay on the very last page after the
works cited page.
What is a specific question?
A specific question is one that points me to a specific page, paragraph, and sentence in your essay.
For example, “On page 2, in the 2nd paragraph is the signal phrase for that quote by Munro
sufficient?”
Another example, “Does my conclusion have a clear and final closing statement?”
Another example, “On page 4 in the 3rd paragraph, does the direct quote by Johnson have enough
explanation to prove my claim?”
Do not ask general questions.
For example, “Does my essay flow?”
Another example, “Is my introduction good?”
Another example, “Is my works cited page correct?”
These questions will be left unanswered and you will not receive credit for this assignment.
