Each group member will write their own in-depth analysis of how well the group worked together. Using specific concepts and terms from this course and textbook, you’ll explain to me how well your group functioned and why.

This essay should:

include ample terms and citations from the textbook to support your thoughts and insights;
be a thorough analysis of every aspect of your group’s work, from socialization and cohesiveness, to communication, culture and group norms, to member roles, conflict, and leadership; and
not be a summary of the group’s experience, but rather a clear analysis, tying specific examples from your group with terms and concepts from the course to draw a better understanding of your group’s processes, strengths and weaknesses.

Areas of analysis should include the following:

primary, secondary and tertiary tensions that occurred among members, and how that affected the group’s work process and outputs;
an analysis of the group’s level of overall cohesiveness, and an identification of the inputs and throughputs that played the biggest role in shaping it;
specific inputs and throughputs that significantly impacted the group’s final outcome;
an explanation of your group’s culture and a few of the norms that strongly influenced your ability (or inability) to work together;
an examination of each group member, including one to two member roles they demonstrated and an explanation of how this affected the group; and
conflict and leadership strategies employed by group members—including an explanation as to what made these strategies successful or unsuccessful.
