Social justice, at its core, is the pursuit of a fair and equitable society where all individuals have equal rights, opportunities, and access to resources, regardless of their background or identity. It critiques systemic inequalities and seeks to dismantle barriers that perpetuate disadvantage. Analyzing contemporary social problems through this lens reveals how power structures and historical injustices manifest in present-day disparities.

For this analysis, I will examine two contemporary social problems: climate change and environmental injustice and gender-based violence.

Climate change, while seemingly an environmental issue, is profoundly a social justice problem. Its impacts are disproportionately borne by marginalized communities, both globally and locally, who have contributed the least to the crisis. This phenomenon is often termed environmental injustice.
