Social theory
Pick a classical sociological theorist (but not philosophers we may discuss) and do an in-depth research paper on the ideas of that theorist. Do not discuss biographies, focus on their intellectual contributions to social theory.
The social theorist I chose would be George Herbert Mead. Focus on classical symbolic interactionism and his concept and ideas, not on his biography.

Mead also saw language as being central to human experience as it creates a shared set of meanings between individuals which then forms the basis for all further communication within a given culture. This concept is known as “the generalized other” – where individuals are able to understand each other despite their specific differences due to their shared understanding of particular symbols such as language or gestures. Additionally, Mead proposed that human consciousness arises out of reflective self-awareness, meaning our thoughts reflect back upon themselves in order to create new ideas or perspectives.
Furthermore , Mead's theories also incorporated concepts role taking & problem solving - whereby humans have capacity learn , internalize , & act accordance established societal norms .
