Technology Adoption and Culture

Work-from home strategy, offering more flexible work environment, and new opportunities for females in Qatar. The research presents a theoretical model that characterizes the main factors affecting the adoption of telework in Qatar. We argue that work-from-home strategy will most likely be adopted by Qatari female due to certain factors related to culture, technology itself and the work environoment, which in turn can increase the female labor force in Qatar and might help in achieving work-home balance for females who are already working. To provide a holistic view, the research looks at adopting such strategy from different perspectives; technological, cultural and environmental. It integrates Technology Acceptance Model, Task-Technology-Fit theory, Hofstede Cultural theory and economic field.
