a. In light of the contrasting stories of the old and new generations in the book of Numbers, discuss the heritage of the “old generation” within your local church that has been passed on to your generation. Consider the following issues:
1) Emphasis of doctrine (What they believed)
2) Emphasis of discipleship (How they taught what they believed)
3) Emphasis of practice (How they applied what they believed)
Then evaluate these areas, giving your opinion of (1) the consistency of the old generation in following Scripture and (2) the faithfulness of the old generation to God.
b. Second, give the same discussion of the heritage being formed by your generation of the church, the “new generation,” evaluating this new heritage based upon consistency in following Scripture and faithfulness to God.
