Both are essential for success in academia and the workplace. The relationship between academic integrity and writing lies in the ethical responsibility of students to produce original work, properly cite sources, and avoid plagiarism. Similarly, professional practices and scholarly ethics are intertwined as professionals are expected to adhere to ethical standards, conduct thorough research, and accurately represent their findings. The relationship between academic integrity and writing is inseparable. Academic writing requires students to demonstrate their understanding of the subject matter by presenting original ideas and analysis. By maintaining academic integrity, students show respect for the work of others and contribute to the scholarly conversation. When students engage in honest and ethical writing practices, they build a reputation for themselves as trustworthy individuals who value intellectual property. In the same way, professional practices and scholarly ethics are interconnected. Professionals are expected to conduct themselves with integrity in their work, whether it be in research, patient care, or other aspects of their profession. Scholarly ethics dictate that professionals should critically analyze information, carefully select sources, and accurately communicate research findings. By upholding these ethical standards, professionals gain credibility and foster trust within their field. Two resources that support the relationship between academic integrity and writing are the “APA Style Guide” and “Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association.” These resources provide guidelines for proper citation and formatting, ensuring that writers give credit where it is due and avoid plagiarism. Additionally, they offer insights into ethical writing practices, such as paraphrasing and summarizing information accurately. Grammarly and Turnitin play crucial roles in contributing to academic integrity. Grammarly is an online writing assistant that helps students improve their grammar, spelling, and punctuation. It also checks for plagiarism, ensuring that students’ work is original and properly cited. Turnitin is a plagiarism detection tool that compares students’ work against a vast database of sources to identify any instances of plagiarism. By utilizing these tools, students can enhance the quality of their writing while maintaining academic integrity. To maintain integrity and ethics in my academic work as a student of the MSN program and my professional work as a nurse throughout my career, I intend to pursue several strategies: Adherence to ethical guidelines: I will familiarize myself with the ethical codes and guidelines specific to nursing practice to ensure that I uphold the highest standards of professional conduct. Thorough research: I will conduct comprehensive research using reputable sources to ensure the accuracy and validity of the information I present in my academic and professional work.
