This should be an informative essay in which you will explore and explain the origins of your chosen conspiracy theory. This essay should not explore the conspiracies theories themselves. Rather it should explain the events that lead to those theories:
What happened?
Who was involved?
What was the “official” explanation of the event?
What concerns do skeptics have with the official explanation?
What questions about the event remain to this day?
Preparation and Prewriting:
For this assignment you must use 3-4 research sources (and only 3-4 sources), and every source must be used in the essay.
**For your this first essay all research sources must come from either COM’s database, a public library’s database, or print materials. Basically, anything from
a library will be allowed. I want to avoid using websites right now if possible Organization:
a) Introduce the issue which you will explore in the essay. Be sure to address both your topic and purpose (to explain the origins of your conspiracy theory) in the introduction to your essay.
b) Develop the essay by discussing the questions listed at the top of the page. Be sure to provide a comprehensive overview of your subject. Your goal is to remain objective and express no personal opinions about the topic.
