George DeSantis was born in Jacksonville, Florida and raised in Daytona Beach. He graduated with honors from Yale University before being accepted into Harvard Law School where he received his Juris Doctor degree. After serving as an officer in the U.S Navy Judge Advocate General’s Corps., he became involved in politics when he ran successfully for the House of Representatives in 2012. As governor, DeSantis has been a strong advocate of pro-growth policies such as cutting taxes, reducing regulations, expanding educational choice for students and parents ,and combating illegal immigration at the state level . Gregg Abbott grew up near Wichita Falls, Texas where he attended The University of Texas graduating first-in-his class law school later on . He began practicing law early career eventually working way up into public office first becoming Secretary State 1995 then Attorney General 2002 setting records terms litigation victories behalf Texans during time these positions held . When elected governor 2014 , continued this trend implementing more conservative fiscal measures such lowering taxes supporting education reform business investment climate within region amongst other initiatives.
