“The Wife of Bath’s Tale”
n a well organized essay, discuss how Chaucer develops a central idea of the text through his portrayal of major characters in “The Wife of Bath’s Tale”
Some notes I took on what I believe is the central idea is :
- people are vied and seen as their social class
- in this kingdom they live in a hierarchy where people are ranked one above the other according to their status, social class and authority.
- people are treated unfairly and viewed less than others due to their status .
-In this hierarchy the kings and queens are above everyone and believe they are not comparable and the peasants who are at the bottom and are Poor but noble people
- they should not be defined by their social status
