Description
From Gilman's THE YELLOW WALL-PAPER, pp. 485-497:
In a Short Essay, account for âThe Yellow Wall-paperâsâ final lines: âHe stopped short by the door. âWhat is the matter?â he cried. âFor Godâs sake, what are you doing!â I kept on creeping just the same, but I looked at him over my shoulder. âIâve got out at last,â said I, âin spite of you and Jane! And Iâve pulled off most of the paper, so you canât put me back!â Now why should that man have fainted? But he did, and right across my path by the wall, so that I had to creep over him every time!â What do you think has happened? Who is Jane?
