She has asked for a home visit, but the case manager who is her primary caseworker is on vacation. She says she is feeling very down lately and expresses, “I feel so hopeless. I really don’t have anything to look forward to anymore.”
(b) You work for an agency serving children and families. A 28-year-old woman seeks services because she feels unable to cope with the destructive, aggressive behavior of her five-year-old son. She reports he is out of control, and she is overwhelmed. The school keeps calling and expressing concern about his behavior to her. She does not want to deal with him any longer and asks if he would be able to be placed in respite care. You are the human services provider assigned to her case.
