Read the new revised paper before editing the old paper as there were a lot of changes made in the “Potential Root Causes” section. This paper should be aligned with the powerpoint and stakeholder summary that was sent in an order before this order #313081474. This week, you will be developing a theory of action that will identify specific actions to address the problem of practice at your project site. You will consider your theory of action based on Childress and Marietta’s 2008 article “A Problem-Solving Approach to Designing and Implementing a Strategy to Improve Performance.” There should be a clear alignment between your problem statement, root cause or gap analysis, and theory of action. By the end of this week, you will also need to have completed your stakeholder review and will write up a summary of the meeting and submit it to the assignment area.
Theory of Action
Your theory of action is based on the root causes that you have identified from the assessment and gap analysis that you submitted in Week 2 and focuses your applied improvement project on specific actions to address the problem by addresses how to confront one or more of the root causes you have identified. As you compose your theory of action, make sure that there is alignment between your problem statement, root cause or gap analysis, and theory of action.
Read the Childress and Marietta article provided below. Pay particular attention to the “Develop a Theory of Action” section to help you formulate your theory of action for the problem of practice you are addressing in your applied improvement project. Use the Theory of Action Guide [DOCX] to develop your theory of action. Completing theory of action using the Childress and Marietta article is the preliminary work you will do in preparation for developing the Theory of Action section of your draft needs assessment signature assignment. Once you have worked through Childress and Marietta process, transfer your preliminary work to your draft needs assessment signature assignment by first listing your problem of practice statement. Follow with one or more introductory paragraphs that describe the beliefs and assumptions held by your organization in relation to the problem and the potential solutions or interventions you and your team identified. Complete the assignment by listing your if propositions and your then statements.
