Read "Tips for Scholarly Writing in Nursing" by Phyllis Dexter located in the Resources folder (on the right side of the home page). It is a classic that has been used as a reference for many years. I think it is an essential read for anyone who plans to do any writing in their professional career. I know it is a bit dated, but the content is still very applicable. There is a second article published online in 2006 that is also a great resource.
I have also included the latest DNP project guidelines. While this endeavor is down the road, it's a good idea to have an understanding of what your project can entail.

Zaccagnini and Pechacek - Chapter10
In this discussion forum, I would like you to begin to explore your thoughts for your DNP project. I would like your classmates to give their thoughts on your ideas and add their input to your plan. In the end, I would like you to envision a project where you can take existing literature and transform clinical practice or administrative goals. This can be a quality improvement, clinical practice guidelines, or clinical practice improvement in your workplace or beyond. THIS IS ONLY AN EXERCISE AND DOES NOT HAVE TO BE YOUR ULTIMATE PROJECT IDEA!
To start thinking about a project topic you must understand exactly what a project is and what is involved. Reading chapter 10 in Zaccagnini and Pechacek as well as reviewing the document above on PICOT and DNP Project Guidelines will definitely clarify things for you. Keep in mind that this is an Evidence Based Practice Quality Improvement Project. You will not be conducting research. There is no randomization/control. Keep your ideas reasonable with regards to the time component in the PICOT. You won’t want your project dragging out 6 months.
